The Application of IGBT in New Energy Vehicles
This study analyzes the role of IGBT in new energy vehicles, highlighting its combination of MOSFET’s fast switching and BJT’s high current capacity. As the core of motor drive inverters, chargers, and regenerative braking, IGBT directly impacts efficiency, range, and performance. It represents 7–10% of total vehicle cost, second only to batteries. With 800V platforms and rapid EV growth, China’s automotive IGBT market is projected to reach 33 billion yuan by 2025. Though gaps with global leaders remain, domestic substitution and integration trends are accelerating, strengthening China’s competitiveness in the EV industry.
